The Story of Isis

The golden thread of remembrance travels far back within blood and bone, further than what is comprehensible within linear time. This thread stretches through generations and generations, it is with thousands of Ancestors who have stories of struggle, stories of victory, and stories of a life tending to the Temple. This is the echo of a story of the Temple Keepers of the Great Mystery.

This is the beginning of the origin story of Auset, and a story of remembrance when we danced on the temple grounds. A time when we grieved, offered, sang and celebrated while we danced. A story where in every subtle motion, from heart to shoulder, elbow to wrist, palms to the very tip of our fingers, we received the light.

With the delicacy of that light we made prayers with our bodies into the web of consciousness; to tend to the fissures, to mend the broken strands, to weave a stronger web, and to care for and lift the veil between the Seen and the Unseen, the portal to the Great Mystery.

This thread caresses the memories embedded in the lines of my palm. This golden light, of which I am committed to follow, is the luminosity of the arrival of the Morningstar and the rising of the Sun. It is where evening meets day and day brings the transmission from the night.

This golden thread, a strand in the great cosmic web of timelessness, is the lighthouse that has carried the eternal flame of the line and lineage of Auset, also known as Aset/ Isis. She is the Great Mother, the Throne of the Heavens, the soul of Sirius, and was later initiated as “the Mother of the Gods.”

Born of the earth god, Geb, and the sky goddess of the heavens, Nut, sibling to the Neteru divinites Ausar, Seth, and Nebt-Het; Auset was also the loving consort and wife to Ausar, the God Osiris of the Neterworld. She is the mother of Heru, also known as the falcon God Horus, who was said to be immaculately conceived by lightning or sacred breath, in ritual with her loving partner Ausar, one of the greatest stories ever told.

Represented by and crowned with the throne, she carried the seat and transmission of power as a protector, healer, role model for women in devotion to empowering other women, principal divinity in the rites of the dead and high magical practitioner. She not only performed the holy rituals of the mystery teachings, but also passed them down to those training in her lineage.

As the “Queen of the Throne,” she is symbolized by the solar disk, cow horns, wings and the sycamore tree. Auset is often seen holding a lotus staff representing creation and rebirth, as a carrier of the ancient teachings in service to Maat, cosmic truth & law. She is keeper of the Temple Rites, guardian of the ancient ways and bringer of the mystery schools. These schools train those willing and devoted to maintaining the bonds between the human, natural and divine realms.
