Cultivating Your Inner Landscape

Guided Breath by Alexis Cintron

Throughout time, we have used the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars as our navigational tools to connect deeper into the rhythmic cycles of ourselves and this incredible life we experience. Now we use cell phones and apps to track our moons, apps to find the constellations and bypass what the Sun does for us daily.

How did we forget these ways so quickly?  Do you know when your moon is arriving?  Do you gaze up at the stars and patiently wait for them to send you a direct message?

I ask these questions because these incredible rhythmic cycles not only nourish, guide and transform our experience on earth. They nourish, guide and transform the landscape within.

Have you ever felt the Sun, Moon and Stars anchor you down to the Earth reminding you that you are the center of your life, no matter where you change directions?

Let the sun touch your skin, let the moon reflect the phases of your mind and let the stars activate the pathways within.

Journey with me as we ride on the back of the breath, voyaging into this new moon of practical service to oneself, tending to the inner flame of awareness that purifies the waters within.

Life begins, the moment you feel the richness of your breath curve in through the base of your nostrils, as it spirals through your inner landscapes. Notice what your breath collects as it makes its way through and out of your beautiful earth body.

Did your breath collect your mind back into the moment, to experience the feeling of what your body is trying to share?

Either way, soften into your seat, allow your eyes to soften back, while turning your gaze inward.

Allow your closed eyes to roll to the left… then to the right…and then back to center.

Relax your ankles and toes, releasing your tension and resistance held like plugs at the bottom of your feet.

Notice if your throat is coiled up like a scroll. If it is, unfurl it down to the base of your tailbone and receive the softening from the inside out. Free the tightness on the back of your head, letting go of the need to search or push for what is next.

Relax the space behind the back of your eyes, disperse the pressure under your cheekbones and soften your face back into its natural form.

Align your head, with your heart and then with your central low belly.  Feel the buoyancy that arrive in your spinal column.

Breathe into that spaciousness.

Tether down into your sitz bones and grow through your crown.

Allow your inhale to inflate your inner landscape, and the exhale remove the pressure that occupies the space for you to rest in.

Gather all of your attention at your center.  Imagine your center to be a magnetic sphere that can pivot in any direction but stays on an axis. Allow the axis to rest inbetween your hips. Feel the axel/axis slowly begin to move, rolling the magnetic sphere forward. Sense the dense center slowly find it’s momentum. Observe it slowly churning your inner layers.

Feel the gravitational pull gather back your fragmented thoughts as offerings to your central sun/fire.  Allow your mind to experience its orbit around your center, like the moon around the earth… remember it can only go so far, before you reel it back in with it’s orbital repetition.

Notice the repetition calibrate and strengthen your mental laser. Patch the leaks of perspective so your focus has one direction.

Now let’s take a moment to honor, receive and release this incredible breath….

Inhale and allow it sail into your porous bones and exhale it through all of your the pores in your skin. Recognize if you are gripping your inhale or exhale.

Soften your grip around the breath and allow for it to be like a warm gentle breeze reorganizing your inner experience.

As you continue to breathe, notice how your breath stokes your inner fire. Feel it’s warmth and witness how it begins to purify your body of water.

Recognize how it warms and reshapes your soils remembrance to where you have come from, to how you will presently imprint what you carry forth.

Notice.. is your mind getting distracted ?

If it is, take your time navigating your way back to your magnetic center.

Breathe deeply, but not forcefully. Allow your breath to sail underneath your skin removing the resistance held so tightly at the surface.

Surrender the old mental forms back to your central fire, churning and folding that which has become stagnant and frozen. Melt the crystallized forms back into your tissues irrigating the soils for a rebirth from inside out.

Now that your center is subtly churning, notice the back of your throat. Is it coiled up and needing to be unfurled, again?

If so, lengthen and anchor your throat into your tailbone, and allow the anchor to ground your resonant voice into the depths of your deepest abyss.

Notice the depths in which your powerful mind can deliver your breath, freeing the compressed trauma or stories that lie so deeply without a voice.

Allow yourself to find your seat within and breathe in this moment.

Let your breath caress your body of water, mirroring back your current state.

Does anything surface?

Soften into your cauldron of communion.

Breathe in the invisible imprints of this new moon and exhale them into your inner landscape.
